The Hudson boys lacrosse team's three-game winning streak came to an end after losing a 15-14 decision to Solon April 17 at Hudson Memorial Stadium.
The Explorers (3-3) had a 6-4 lead at halftime, but the Comets (7-0) outscored Hudson 7-4 in the third quarter. Solon, which scored the winning goal with 3 minutes, 8 seconds left in the game, had a 3-0 advantage early in the game.
Mick Mougey had a career-high five goals for the Explorers.
Bo Lori added two goals and four assists and Cameron Haggerty, Gabe Vehar and Grant Elffers each had two goals.
Zach Nye finished with one goal and three assists for Hudson.
Erik Lindroth had an assist and Chris Motter won 19 face-offs and scooped up 13 ground balls.
Explorers goalkeeper Jake Krone made 10 saves between the pipes.
The Comets outshot Hudson 34-32. The Explorers, who committed 24 turnovers, had a 41-36 advantage in ground balls.
Hudson's junior varsity team improved to 4-1 with a lopsided 19-5 win over Solon.
Cole Miller and Sean O'Loughlin each had four goals for the Explorers and Nathan Szoch finished with three goals.
