Hudson boys place eighth at Lexington; girls finish 10th

The Hudson track and field teams competed at the Lexington Invitational April 12.

The boys finished eighth out of 15 teams with 38 points.

Wadsworth won the competition with 105.5 points and Pemberville Eastwood (96.5) and Norwalk (90) placed second and third, respectively.

The girls finished 10th out of 16 teams with 25 points.

Canton GlenOak won with 107.5 points and Wadsworth (99) and Dublin Coffman (76.5) captured second and third, respectively.

The following Explorers and Lady Explorers placed in the top eight:

Boys

• 6,400-meter relay: Gavin Gaynor, Connor Sinko, Matthew Hallgarth and Kyle Mau, second, meet-record 18 minutes, 20.09 seconds

• 110 hurdles: Adam Green, fifth, 15.73

• 300 hurdles: Green, fifth, 41.89

• Long jump: Logan Thomas, fifth, 20 feet, 2.5 inches; and Thomas Bevan, seventh, 19-11.5

• High jump: Thomas, sixth, 5-10

• Discus: John Brandon, first, 156-2

Girls

• 3,200 relay: Arielle Dalea, Meredith Pinkerton, Eleanor Bashian and Gaby Palazzo, seventh, 10:31.21

• 100: Natalie Barnett, fourth, 12.9

• 800 relay: Brooke Royster, Larisa Steiner, Ali Baylor and Barnett, fourth, 1:52.05

• 1,600: Dalea, eighth, 5:38.49

• 400: Baylor, eighth, 1:04.69

• 200: Barnett, third, 26.92

• Shuttle hurdles: Janine Planchet, Ally Gold, Megan Boyda and Lindsey Buehl, seventh, 1:22.22

• 3,200: Sarah Wolanske, seventh, 12:09.77; and Bashian, eighth, 12:24.09
