Hudson baseball team beats Kent Roosevelt

The Hudson baseball team improved to 3-0 with a 9-5 victory over Kent Roosevelt at the David Starkey Memorial Classic April 4 at Kent State University.

The Explorers finished with 10 hits and no errors. The Rough Riders had five hits and two errors.

Hudson scored two runs in the top of the first inning, but Kent rallied wth three runs in the bottom of the first.

The Explorers took the lead for good with three runs in the second and four more in the fourth. The Rough Riders scored their last two runs in the bottom of the fourth.

Hudson pulled off a triple play with the bases loaded an no outs in the fourth inning.

Jared Hoffman got the win on the mound. He finished with seven strikeouts.

Ian Swan had a two-out, two-run double in the first, while Dan Joseph added three hits with two runs scored and was named the Fireball Player of the Game.
