Hudson baseball team shuts out Normandy

The host Hudson baseball team improved to 2-0 after posting a 4-0 victory over Parma Normandy April 2 at The Ballpark at Hudson.

The Explorers scored one run apiece in the first and third innings and twice in the fifth inning. Hudson finished with seven hits and no errors'

Normandy finished with one hit and one error.

Right-hander Nanak Saran allowed just one hit in five innings of work to pick up the win. He finished with four strikeouts.

Jared Hoffman pitched the sixth and Ian Swan entered the game in the seventh.

Joey Cahill led the Explorers' offense with two hits, including a double, a stolen base, a run batted in and a run scored. Cahill also was hit by a pitch.

Hudson lost a 3-2 decision in the junior varsity game.

The Explorers are scheduled to entertain Northeast Ohio Conference rival Strongsville April 3 at 4:30 p.m.
