The Hudson girls basketball team's season is over.
The Lady Explorers lost a 40-32 decision to Nordonia in a Division I sectional title contest Feb. 20 in Macedonia.
The Lady Knights (16-7) led from start to finish despite making just 8 of 23 foul shots.
But Nordonia was able to make up for its woes at the charity stripe with some key baskets and menacing defense.
The Lady Knights held Hudson scoreless in the first period and were up 19-10 at halftime, thanks to a jumper by Kayla Mislosky as time expired.
The Lady Explorers cut their decit to four a couple of times, but they could never get closer.
On one possession in the fourth quarter, Hudson (8-14) missed three 3-pointers.
A total of eight players scored at least two points for Nordonia.
Katie Karalic led the Lady Knights with a game-high 13 points and Meghan Reilly added nine points.
Krissy Mummey and Jackie Ulmer led the Lady Explorers with 10 and nine points, respectively.
Hudson made just 10 of 21 shots from the foul line.
