Hudson boys hoops team holds off Kent; Zullo sets school record

The host Hudson boys basketball team improved to 9-10 after posting a 58-56 victory over Kent Roosevelt Feb. 18 at Ray "Buck" Hyser Gymnasium.

Kevin Zullo hit two 3-pointers in the fourth quarter and four triples for the game to finish with 12 points for the Explorers.

His final 3 gave Hudson the lead (46-45) for good and it also was his 57th of the season, which is a school record. The Explorers called time-out after Zullo's historic 3 to present him a game ball.

After that, Chris Koscho stole the inbound pass and fed the ball to Mitch Guadagni for a layup to give Hudson a 48-45 advantage.

Guadagni finished with a game-high 20 points and Derek Schwarz added 14 points for the Explorers.

Myles Wright led the Rough Riders (11-10) with 18 points. Hudson outscored Kent 20-13 in the final eight minutes.
