Hudson swimming and diving teams win district titles

The Hudson girls and boys swimming and diving teams captured Division I district titles at Cleveland State University's Busbey Natatorium.

The Lady Explorers easily won the 34-team competition with 364 points. Walsh Jesuit (217) and Brecksville-Broadview Heights (205) finished second and third, respectively.

The Hudson boys held off Solon to place first out of 34 teams. The Explorers scored 327 points, while Solon finished with 325 points.

North Canton Hoover finished a distant third with 208 points.

The following Explorers and Lady Explorers advanced to the Division I state meet:

Girls

• 200-yard medley relay: Kristin Dagley, Gina Saxon, Caitlin Weigel and Macy Trattner, second, 1 minute, 47.8 seconds

• 200 freestyle: Paige Kelly, second, 1:53.41; and Sarah Wolanske, third, 1:53.92

• 50 freestyle: Weigel, third, 24.2

• 100 freestyle: Stephanie Boyd, third, 53.26

• 500 freestyle: Kelly, first, 4:56.61; and Wolanske, second, 5:04.71

• 200 freestyle relay: Jillian Saccogna, Kelly, Boyd and Weigel, first, 1:37.35 (school record)

• 100 breaststroke: Saxon, eighth, 1:06.81

• 400 freestyle relay: Saccogna, Wolanske, Boyd and Kelly, first, 3:31.58 (school record)

Boys

• 200 medley relay: Doni Moffa, Peyton Brown, Keegan Goeke and Ryan Johnson, fifth, 1:38.64

• 200 freestyle: Cole Clampffer, fourth, 1:43.7

• 200 individual medley: Ross Palazzo, first, 1:50.39 (district record)

• 50 freestyle: Brendon Mulcahey, fifth, 21.37

• 100 butterfly: Mulcahey, third, 52.64

• 200 freestyle relay: Palazzo, Clampffer, Brown and Mulcahey, first, 1:25.38

• 100 backstroke: Doni Moffa, third, 52.64

• 100 breaststroke: Palazzo, first, 55.78

• 400 freestyle relay: Palazzo, Clampffer, Moffa and Mulcahey, first, 3:07.8 (district and school record)
