Hudson ice hockey team routs Aurora in playoff opener

The sixth-seeded Hudson ice hockey team earned a commanding 10-0 victory over Aurora in a first-round playoff game Feb. 12 at Kent State University Ice Arena.

With the win, the Explorers (16-13-3) earned a date with fifth-seeded Shaker Heights Feb. 15 at Kent State. Game time is scheduled for 3 p.m.

Bo Lori and Brent Zubal each had three goals and two assists for Hudson. Max Cole also had a goal and two assists and Brendan Nenni had one goal and one assist.

Connor Kasarda and Bret Lindemann also scored once apiece for the Explorers and Matt Murphy and Mike Gaffney each had two assists.

Harry Harr and Jacob Movshin each had one assist for Hudson.

Aurora goaltender Kevin Hutchinson finished with 48 saves. Explorers goaltender Stroud Corr made six stops.

Lori now has the school record for most career points with 195. He broke the previous record which was owned by 2005 graduate Chris Hourigan.
