Hudson boys hoops team upsets Medina

The host Hudson boys basketball team upset an area juggernaut.

The Explorers earned a 55-51 victory over Medina Feb. 4 at Ray "Buck" Hyser Gymnasium.

With the win, Hudson improved to 8-7 on the season. The Bees fell to 13-3.

Kevin Zullo and Derek Schwarz each had 15 points for the Explorers. Zullo knocked down five 3-pointers.

Brendan Burdett and Mitch Guadagni added 12 and 10 points, respectively, for Hudson.

Craig Randall led Medina with 23 points.

The Explorers also posted a 49-47 win in the junior varsity contest. Zack Meder scored the game-winning basket when he buried a 3-pointer with 7 seconds left.
