The host Hudson girls basketball team fell to 7-9 on the season after losing a 54-49 decision to Rocky River Magnificat Jan. 22 at Buck Hyser Gymnasium.
The Lady Blue Streaks (10-4) had a 45-32 lead early in the fourth quarter before the Lady Explorers rallied.
After a layup by post Krissy Mummey on a lob pass from point guard Emmy Klemencic, Hudson trailed 48-46 with 57.7 seconds left in the game.
Magnificat then missed the front end of a one and one on the next possession, but the Lady Explorers could not convert on the other end.
The Lady Blue Streaks made six of their next eight free throws in the final 37.6 seconds to seal the deal.
A total of 10 players scored at least two points for Magnificat.
Sarah Scelza led the Lady Blue Streaks with 11 points and Bridget Pryatel and Elise Keshock added nine and eight points apiece for Magnificat.
Mummey led Hudson with a game-high 20 points and Jackie Ulmer finished with 12 points.
The Lady Blue Streaks also earned a 48-39 victory in the junior varsity contest.
