Play Ball Sports Academy offers training regimen

Play Ball Sports Academy is offering an offseason training regimen that is expected to begin this month.

Training is expected to be offered to all of the players during the offseason and create evenly divided teams that will play against each other in the newly formed Stark-Summit Baseball League Suburban division.

The league is for players who are ages 11 and 12.

Hudson grad's first NFL season ends

Hudson graduate Brian Winters recently concluded his first season with the New York Jets.

Winters, an offensive guard, played in all 16 games and made 12 starts. The Jets finished 8-8 in 2013.

Winters was a third-round pick in the NFL draft and was a standout offensive lineman at Kent State University.

Winters was an All-Mid American Conference selection three times at Kent State.

5K scheduled

The Hermes Garage Sale 5K is scheduled to take place Jan. 18 at Edgewater Park in Cleveland.

The race is set to begin at 9 a.m.
