Akron, OH –This Saturday, Dec. 21 may be one of the busiest days for many families preparing for their holiday festivities—as it is the last Saturday before Christmas. But nearly 700 Northeast Ohio individuals won’t be thinking about the gifts they will buy, the decorations in their home or the meal they will prepare.
On Saturday, the nearly 700 pre-registered individuals will be giving to others as they celebrate the meaning of the holiday season at the Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank for
the first annual Selfless Elf 5K.
As part of the Subway Challenge Series, the Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank is hosting the first annual Selfless Elf 5K to conclude their holiday Hunger-Free Families campaign. Race participants will be dressed in festive holiday-themed running gear and costumes, and are invited to will run or walk the 3.1-mile course beginning and ending at the Foodbank.

Santa’s favorite milk and cookies will be available for runners along with children’s activities including pictures with Santa. Join the Foodbank, and become reminded why it is the most wonderful time of the year.
