Hudson wrestlers place second at Riverside Rumble

The Hudson wrestling team placed second with 310 points at the 2013 Riverside Rumble Tournament Dec. 14 in Painesville.

Beloit West Branch won the 14-team tournament with 326 points and Geneva placed third (295.5).

Michael Coleman was the Explorers' lone champion. He earned an 8-3 decision over Girard's James Cupan in the 160-pound Gold Division final.

Hudson had four second-place finishers. They are Christian Owsley (113), Ben Boysel (126), Chris Motter (132) and Billy Buehl (145).

Nathan Szoch (132) and Michael Delsanter (195) finished fourth for the Explorers.

Taking fifth for Hudson were Collin Hall (138), Sandor Chunyo (170) and Gabe Vehar (195). Matt Slater placed sixth at 220.

Mitchell Soucek (126), Ben Krizman (182) and Connor Milosovic (220) finished seventh and Nicci Polifrone (106) and Simon Turner (182) placed eighth.

The Explorers are scheduled to entertain Northeast Ohio Conference River Division rival North Royalton Dec. 19 at 7 p.m.

They are set to host the Hudson Holiday Tournament this weekend. The action is set to begin Dec. 20 at 4 p.m. before resuming Dec. 21 at 10 a.m. The final are scheduled to take place Dec. 21 at 5 p.m.
