Hudson ice hockey team routs Mentor

The host Hudson ice hockey team improved to 5-3-2 overall and 2-1 in the Red North Division after posting a 6-1 victory over Mentor Dec. 13 at Kent State University Ice Arena.

Bo Lori led the Explorers with two goals and two assists and Mikey Gaffney added two goals for Hudson.

Anthony Giaimo had one goal and one assist for the Explorers. Connor Kasarda also found the net for Hudson.

Brendan Nenni, Chandler Kotseos, Matt Murphy, Bret Lindemann, Chris Warfield and Brent Zubal each had an assist for the Explorers.

Hudson goaltender Austin Ganley made 16 saves in the nets. The Explorers outshot Mentor 43-18.

Hudson is scheduled to compete in the Thornton Park Tournament Dec. 20 to 22 in Shaker Heights.

The Explorers are set to open tournament play against Bowling Green Dec. 20 at 7:30 p.m.
