Hudson ice hockey team earns split with Red North rivals

The Hudson ice hockey team improved to 4-3-2 overall and 1-1 in the Red North Division after posting an 8-5 victory over Brecksville-Broadview Heights Dec. 7 at Kent State University Ice Arena.

Bo Lori had two goals and one assist and Chris Warfield had two goals for the Explorers.

Chandler Kotseos added one goal and two assists and Zach Thibault had one goal and one assist.

Also finding the nets once apiece for Hudson were Brent Zubal and Mikey Gaffney. Matt Murphy, Anthony Giaimo and Harry Harr each had one assist for the Explorers.

Hudson goaltender Austin Ganley made 22 saves. The Explorers outshot the Bees 34-27.

The Explorers lost a 3-1 decision to Red North Division rival and defending state champion Shaker Heights Dec. 6 at Thornton Park in Shaker Heights.

Lori scored the lone goal for Hudson and Ganley made 24 saves in the nets.

The Explorers are scheduled to host Red North Division foe Mentor Dec. 13 at Kent State. Game time is set for 7:15 p.m. They are set to visit Red North rival Strongsville Dec. 14 at Iceland USA in Strongsville.

The contest is scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m.
