Frosty 5 Mile

coming to Hudson

The Western Reserve Racing's Frosty 5 Mile or Mistletoe Mile Fun Run is scheduled to take place Dec. 24 at First and Main in downtown Hudson.

The Mistletoe Mile is set to start at 8 a.m. and the Frosty 5 is scheduled to start at 8:30 a.m.

Prizes and post-race refreshments are provided by local sponsors First & Main, 3 Palms, Flip Side, One Red Door and Vertical Runner.

Western Reserve Racing comprises the Dirty Trail Series, Burning River 100 Mile Endurance Run, Crooked River Trail Runners and several other endurance races that take place in the Cuyahoga Valley National Park and other areas.

Softball umps sought

The Summit Umpires Association is expected to sponsor a class for those interested in becoming fastpitch softball umpires at the high school level.

The class is scheduled to begin at the end of January. The new umpires that complete the course will be able to work high school games in the spring.

This class is required for Ohio School Athletic Association certification as a fastpitch softball umpire.

Sports camp offered

A Winterfest Sports Camp for children in grades kindergarten to fifth is set to be offered by Jump Start Sports on Dec. 23, 26 to 28 and Jan. 2 and 3 at Pinnacle Sports, 9550 Ravenna Road in Twinsburg.
