Hudson bowling teams fall to Mentor and Stow-Munroe Falls

The Hudson girls and boys bowling teams lost to Northeast Ohio Conference rival Mentor Dec. 4 at Freeway Lanes in Mentor.

The girls fell to 3-2 after dropping a 2,257-1,469 decision and the boys dropped to 0-5 after losing a 2,452-2,116 decision.

Autumn Stanonik led the way for the Lady Explorers with games of 154 and 118, respectively, and Angela Piazza had the high game (156). She also rolled a 107. Ashley Reed had the third highest series (121-128) for Hudson.

Hunter McCollough led the boys with games of 176 and 201, respectively. Also faring well were Nich Brumbaugh (167-160) and Derek Moran (173-149).

The junior varsity boys lost a 1,820-1,509 decision. Alden Reed led Hudson with a 167.

Both teams lost to Northeast Ohio Conference rival Stow-Munroe Falls Dec. 3 at Sto-Kent Family Entertainment Center.

The girls droppedĀ a 2,063-1,708 decision and the boys lost a 2,515-2,322 decision.

The girls were led by Stanonik, who rolled games of 161 and 130, respectively.

Rounding out the top three for the Lady Explorers were Reed (145-136) and Piazza (141-140).

Logan Booth led the Hudson boys (0-4) with games of 225 and 189, respectively, and Philip Rust had the high game (236). He also rolled a 158.

Bobby Shanks added a 207 and McCollough (181-165) also fared well.

"Our boys gave them [the Bulldogs] a run," Hudson head coach John Brockway said. "We had the lead after the first game."

The Hudson junior varsity boys lost a 1,991-1,420 decision to Stow.

Matt Redman had the high game (169) and Adam Harris had the high series (162-125).

All three teams are scheduled to host NOC foe Brunswick Dec. 9 at Sto-Kent Family Entertainment Center. Bowling is set to begin at 4:15 p.m.
