Hudson girls basketball team finally gets past Twinsburg

The Hudson girls basketball team earned a 69-56 victory over Northeast Ohio Conference Valley Division rival Twinsburg Dec. 7 on the road.

It was the Lady Explorers' first win against the Lady Tigers since 2006. It also ended a three-game losing streak for Hudson, which improved to 2-3 overall and 1-1 in the Valley Division.

The Lady Explorers led 40-30 at halftime and put it away by outscoring Twinsburg (1-4, 0-2) 18-8 in the final quarter. The Lady Tigers did not score their first points of the fourth quarter until more than six minutes elapsed.

Jackie Ulmer led Hudson with 22 points and Krissy Mummey finished with 18 points. Baleigh Reid led Twinsburg, which had a 60-game winning streak against Valley Division opponents snapped, with a game-high 26 points, including 12 of 16 from the foul line.

The Lady Explorers also earned a 37-32 overtime win in the junior varsity contest. It was the JV's team third straight win after an 0-2 start.

Hannah Monsman led Hudson with 13 points.
