Hudson graduate named Academic All-American

Hudson graduate Zack Barley, a senior safety on the Baldwin Wallace University football team, recently was named as a 2013 Capital One Academic All-American.

To qualify to become a Capital One Academic All-American, each student athlete had to have a minimum 3.3 grade point average or higher, be a key starter or reserve, play in a minimum of 70 percent of his or her team's games at the time of nomination and be a first-team Capital One Academic All-District selection.

Barley carries a 3.879 GPA in psychology. The team quint-captain had 29 tackles this season despite missing two full games and parts of two others with an injury.

Also honored was Hudson graduate Addison Carbone, a junior defensive tackle. Carbone was a first-team Academic All-District 7 pick and a 2013 Academic All-OAC choice.
