Football team ranked
second in Region 1
The Hudson football team was ranked second with 32.3667 points in the Division I, Region 1 football computer ratings as of press time.
Lakewood St. Edward was first with 34.1201 points and Mentor, which earned a 38-14 victory over the Explorers Oct. 25, was third with 30.9667 points.
Hudson has already clinched home-field advantage in the opening round of the Division I playoffs.
The Explorers (8-1, 4-1 in the Northeast Ohio Conference Valley Division) were scheduled to host Valley Division rival Twinsburg in their regular-season finale Nov. 1 at Hudson Memorial Stadium. Results were not available at press time.
Hudson is set to host a playoff game Nov. 8 at 7 p.m.
Akron Baseball HOF
The board of directors for the Greater Akron Baseball Hall of Fame is accepting nominations for its July induction ceremony.
The board is requesting that nominees should be persons who have made meaningful contributions to local baseball programs.
Those nominated should be players, coaches, managers, sponsors, umpires and/or administrators.
The Greater Akron area is defined as all of Summit, Portage, Wayne, Medina and Stark counties.
The deadline for submitting nominations to the Greater Akron Baseball Hall of Fame is Dec. 15.

Run in Turkey Trot
Aurora's parks and recreation department is planning its seventh annual Turkey Trot, a 4-mile run/walk, Nov. 28 at Aurora Farms Premium Outlets.
