The Hudson field hockey team ended the regular season with an 11-game winning streak.
The host Lady Explorers posted a 4-1 victory over Western Reserve Academy Oct. 12 at Scott Malson Field.
Maria Russell scored twice for Hudson (12-2) and Erin Hoover and Meredith Pinkerton each scored once for the Lady Explorers. Kiley Merrill had two assists for Hudson. Russell got the Lady Explorers on the board when she tipped in Merrill's shot with 17 minutes, 1 second remaining in the first half.
Pinkerton scored from point-blank range less than two minutes later and Russell made it 3-0 when she scored off a Merrill assist with 6:12 left in the half.
Hoover added her second goal nearly midway into the second half to increase Hudson's lead to 4-0.
Kat Schlorling scored the lone goal for the Lady Pioneers (10-6-1) with 9:06 remaining in the game. The Lady Explorers had a 10-4 advantage in shots on goal and a 4-3 edge in penalty corners. Hudson goalkeeper Jackie Kisthardt finished with four saves and Reserve keeper Faith DeBolt made five stops.
