Nine in a row and counting.
The Hudson field hockey team won its ninth straight match after posting a 4-1 victory over Maumee Valley Country Day Oct. 5 at Laflin Field.
Prior to the match with MVCD, the Lady Explorers earned a 3-0 win over Ottawa Hills at Hudson Memorial Stadium.
The team joined hands with the National Foundation for Cancer Research to participate in a fundraising campaign entitled to Play4theCure, which sports teams across the country are invited to participate by committing to donate proceeds from at least one game to NFCR.
The Hudson players wore pink jerseys and pink socks.
Against MVCD, Kiley Merrill finished with two goals and Erin Hoover and Maria Russell each had one goal for the Lady Explorers.
Hudson goalkeeper Jackie Kisthardt finished with five saves.
The same trio struck again against Ottawa Hills as Merrill, Hoover and Russell each had one goal.
Kisthardt stopped eight shots.
The Lady Explorers are scheduled to travel to Rocky River to play Magnificat Oct. 9. Game time is set for 4:30 p.m.
They are scheduled to conclude the regular season with a home date against Western Reserve Academy Oct. 12 at Scott Malson Field. Play is scheduled to begin at 1:30 p.m.
