Hudson boys golfers place seventh at district tournament

The Hudson boys golf team's season came to an end in a Division I district tournament Oct. 9 at Pine Hills Golf Club in Hinckley.

The Explorers finished in a tie for seventh with Kent Roosevelt. Hudson shot a score of 325. A total of 18 teams participated.

Lakewood St. Edward won the competition with a score of 303 to qualify for the state competition. Also advancing were Walsh Jesuit (311), Cleveland St. Ignatius (317) and Twinsburg (320).

Walsh's Luke Liberatore earned medalist honors with a 71.

Freshman Will Kurtz led the Explorers with a 79. Rounding out the team score for Hudson were freshmen Dave Sexton (81), Johnny Merrill (82) and Nolan Laughlin (83). Senior Kevin Kubik ended his career with an 84.
