It's there for the taking.
The host Hudson volleyball team took another crucial step toward its second consecutive Northeast Ohio Conference Valley Division title after earning a convincing 25-18, 25-14, 25-14 victory over Stow-Munroe Falls Oct. 8 at Ray "Buck" Hyser Gymnasium.
If the Lady Explorers beat Twinsburg Oct. 10 on the road, they will get at least a share of the Lake Division title. Hudson improved to 15-6 overall and 8-1 in the division.
The Lady Bulldogs fell to 7-11 overall and are officially eliminated from the Lake Division race. Stow, which shared the title with the Lady Explorers last year, fell to 6-3 in the division with one division match left to play.
Gina Holland had a strong all-around match for Hudson with 14 points, including two aces, and 20 digs. Krissy Mummey was the Lady Explorers' biggest weapon at the net with 12 kills and three blocks. Celia Cristofoli also had three blocks and Amanda Przybocki finished with 31 assists.
Jessica Guider led the Lady Bulldogs with six kills and Madison Baer had five kills. Also contributing for Stow were Lu Conrad (12 assists) and Kelsey Steiger (five digs).
