The host Hudson football team improved to 5-0 on the season after posting a lopsided 41-0 win over Northeast Ohio Conference rival Cuyahoga Falls Sept. 27 at Hudson Memorial Stadium.
The Explorers took a 21-0 lead after one quarter and a 34-0 advantage at halftime. Hudson added its final score in the third quarter. The Explorers outgained the Black Tigers (1-4) 356-97.
Quarterback Mitch Guadagni got Hudson on the board with an 8-yard touchdown run with 9 minutes, 43 seconds in the first quarter. Pierce Royster added the first of his five extra points.
Jared Ruffing gave the Explorers a 14-0 lead when he ran into the end zone from 58 yards away four minutes later.
Colton Whited added a 44-yard interception return for a touchdown with 1:54 left in the first quarter.
Royster made it 24-0 midway through the second quarter with a 25-yard field goal.
Later in the first half, Guadagni decided to show off his arm.
He completed a 43-yard TD pass to Whited to make it 31-0 and Royster had a 31-yard field goal on the final play of the half.
Whited also caught a 42-yard TD pass from Guadagni in the third quarter.
Guadagni completed 12 of 17 passes for 187 yards and Whited had five receptions for 108 yards. Hudson also had 174 rushing yards.
