Field hockey squad routs Kent Roosevelt
The host Western Reserve Academy field hockey team won its third consecutive match after posting a convincing 6-0 victory over Kent Roosevelt Sept. 16.
Kristina Kaszei and Abby Wyman each scored twice for the Lady Pioneers (5-2).
Annie Carter and Cristen Barnett found the nets once apiece for Reserve and Sarah Forhan had two assists.
Julia Gasbarre also had an assist for WRA.
The Lady Pioneers were scheduled to visit Hawken Sept. 19 in Gates Mills before heading to Shaker Heights to play Hathaway Brown Sept. 21. Results of those matches were not available at press time.
They are set to compete in the Maumee Valley Country Day Invitational Sept. 27 and 28.
Haines leads Mount Union past Kenyon
Hudson graduate Kolbie Haines scored on a penalty kick in the 78th minute to give the host University of Mount Union a 2-1 victory over Kenyon College (Gambier) Sept. 17 in Alliance.
With the win, the Purple Raiders improved to 5-1-1 on the season.
