The Hudson volleyball team was the runner-up at the Asics Invitational Sept. 14 at Uniontown Lake High School.
The Lady Explorers (9-4) lost a 25-23, 25-23 decision to Cortland Lakeview in the title match.
Hudson earned wins over Copley (25-21, 25-19) and Louisville (25-17, 25-20).
Jordan Mackay led the Lady Explorers with nine kills against Lakeview. Celia Cristofoli and Maddie Przybocki added 10 digs and Alyssa Disandis finished with 23 assists.
Olivia Baumhoer had 11 kills against Copley. Mackay added three blocks and Przybocki finished with 10 digs. Disandis added 29 assists.
Mackay posted 11 kills against Louisville. Krissy Mummey and Cristofoli each had three blocks and Disandis finished with 22 assists and seven digs.
Hudson also lost a 25-23, 20-25, 25-21, 25-17 decision to Northeast Ohio Conference Lake Division rival Mentor Sept. 12 at Ray "Buck" Hyser Gymnasium.
Mummey led the way with nine kills and four blocks and Mackay and Madison Przybocki had 18 and 16 service points, respectively, for the Lady Explorers. Gina Holland added 19 digs and Disandis finished with 24 assists for Hudson. The Lady Explorers dropped to 2-1 in the Lake Division.
Hudson was scheduled to visit Lake Division foe Stow-Munroe Falls Sept. 17. Results were not available at press time.
They are set to host Lake Division rival Twinsburg Sept. 19 at 6:30 p.m. before heading to Wadsworth Sept. 21 a 11:30 a.m.
