Field hockey squad
The Western Reserve Academy field hockey team improved to 4-2 on the season with a convincing 7-0 victory over Orange Sept. 11 in Pepper Pike.
Abby Wyman had three goals and Cristen Barnett had two goals and one assist. Sarah Forhan added one goal and two assists and Kristina Kaszei had two assists.
Also contributing for the Lady Pioneers were Katharina Schorling, who had one goal, and Taylor Chlebina, who had an assist.
Host Reserve posted a 3-2 win over Stow-Munroe Falls Sept. 5.
Barnett got WRA on the board 10 minutes into the game and Annie Carter added two goals. Carter scored on a penalty corner in the second half and then scored the game-winning goal with 42 seconds left.
Lady Pioneers' goalkeeper Faith DeBolt made 12 saves.
Reserve is scheduled to host Kent Roosevelt Sept. 16 at 4:30 p.m.
Golfers edge CVCA
The Western Reserve Academy golf team improved to 7-4 on the season after posting a 163-164 victory over Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy Sept. 11 at Brandywine Country Club in Peninsula.
Joseph Wang led the Pioneers with a 38 to earn medalist honors. Also contributing for Reserve were Barnabas Wang (41), Joey Durr (42) and Robbie Murray (42).
Hudson resident Jeff Britton led the Royals with a 39 and Sam Dietrich of Hudson added a 44 for CVCA.
WRA lost to Mogadore Field Sept. 10 at Sunny Hills Golf Course in Kent.
Field (10-3) posted a 168-170 win over the Pioneers. Field's Brady Adelman shot a 39 to earn medalist honors.
Joseph Wang led Reserve with a 40 and Durr and Barnabas Wang each shot a 41. Also contributing to WRA's team score was Michael Pamer (48).
The Pioneers are scheduled to play Cuyahoga Heights Sept. 17 at Astorhorst Golf Course in Walton Hills. Play is set to begin at 3:30 p.m.
Tennis team wins
The host Western Reserve Academy girls tennis team earned its fourth consecutive win Sept. 10.
The Lady Pioneers improved to 8-2 after posting a 3-2 win over Chagrin Falls. Host Reserve also earned a 3-2 win over Beachwood Sept. 9.
WRA was set to entertain Hudson Sept. 12. Results were not available at press time.
The Lady Pioneers are set to visit Solon Sept. 17 at 4:30 p.m.
