The host Hudson girls tennis team improved to 6-7 overall and 3-1 in the Northeast Ohio Conference Valley Division after posting a convincing 4-1 victory over Medina Sept. 11.
Kati Mdzinarishvili (6-0, 3-0, retired) and Isabelle Mawby (6-3, 6-2) rolled to wins at first and second singles, respectively, for the Lady Explorers.
Hudson's doubles teams of Connie Chen and Grace Graham (6-4, 6-3) and Sujude Dalieh (6-3, 6-2) also triumphed.
Host Hudson lost a 3-2 decision to Westlake Sept. 10.
The Lady Explorers got both of their wins in doubles' play.
The team of Chen and Graham posted a 6-4, 6-3 victory and the pair of Kreiss and Dalieh earned a 6-3, 6-2 win.
Hudson lost a 4-1 decision to Valley Division rival Mayfield Sept. 9 on the road.
Graham got the Lady Explorers' only win with a 6-2, 6-2 victory at third singles.
Mayfield earned a 3-2 win over Hudson last year.
But the Lady Explorers got the last laugh when they won the the NOC Valley Division Tournament. Mayfield finished second.
Hudson was scheduled to visit Western Reserve Academy Sept. 12 before heading to Sandusky to play Perkins Sept. 14. Results of those matches were not available at press time.
The Lady Explorers are set to visit Valley Division foe Solon Sept. 16 before returning home to play Shaker Heights Hathaway Brown Sept. 17.
Both matches are scheduled to begin at 4 p.m.
