The Hudson boys cross country team finished 10th with 266 points at the Boardman Spartan Invitational Sept. 14 in Youngstown.
Olentangy Liberty won the 38-team competition with a score of 111 points and Boardman (147) and Louisville (150) finished second and third, respectively. Louisville won a tiebreaker over Alliance.
Boardman's Mark Hadley edged out Chardon's Nick Elswick for first place. Hadley ran a time of 15 minutes, 7.8 seconds and Elswick finished in 15:08.7. A total of 326 runners participated in the Division I varsity race.
Kyle Mau led the Explorers with a fifth-place time of 15:39.1. Gavin Gaynor was next for Hudson in 13th (16:18.3).
Rounding out the top five for the Explorers were Matthew Hallgarth (47th, 16:59.7), Blake Roberts (90th, 17:28.5) and Connor Sinko (101st, 17:35).
