Hudson field hockey routs Kent
The Hudson field hockey improved to 3-2 on the season after posting a 5-0 victory over Kent Roosevelt Sept. 5 at Hudson Memorial Stadium.
It was the Lady Explorers' second consecutive win.
Hudson is scheduled to visit Laurel Sept. 12 in Shaker Heights. Play is set to begin at 5 p.m.
WRA girls soccer wins handily
The host Western Reserve Academy girls soccer team improved to 2-4-1 with a lopsided 8-0 victory over Canton Central Catholic Sept. 7.
Rylee Nelsen had two goals and one assist to lead the Lady Pioneers and Zoe McCormick added two goals.
Also finding the nets once apiece for Reserve were Allison Hickox, Maggie Wise, Hannah Saucier and Amanda Sudilovsky. Samantha Haseltine contributed two assists and Maria Paparella had one assist. WRA had a 20-4 advantage in shots on goal and a 3-0 edge in corner kicks.
The host Lady Pioneers lost a 5-2 decision to Gates Mills Gilmour Academy Sept. 5.
Catherine Berry and Hickox each scored once for Reserve. Nelsen and McCormick each had an assist. Paparella made four saves in the nets.
WRA had a 12-11 edge in shots on goal and a 5-1 edge on corner kicks.
The Lady Pioneers are scheduled to visit Berlin Hiland Sept. 14 at 6:45 p.m.
