The Hudson boys soccer team earned a 2-1 victory over Northeast Ohio Conference Valley Division rival Twinsburg Sept. 10 at Twinsburg Tiger Stadium.
With the win, the Explorers improved to 4-3-1 and 1-0 in the Valley Division. The Tigers, who had some starters out with injuries, dropped to 3-1-3 and 0-1 in the division. It was Twinsburg's first loss in Valley Division play since 2011.
Andrew Kern scored the game-winning goal with 14 minutes, 16 seconds remaining in the game. Jack Sullivan had the assist.
Matt Wallace scored the first goal of the game in the 18th minute for Hudson. Trevor Colazzo had the assist.
The Tigers tied the game in the 24th minute when Tommy Radtke scored on a penalty kick. Radtke was awarded the kick when Laron Mainor was tripped in the Explorers' penalty box.
Hudson goalkeeper Charlie Sockol, who left the game with a bruise below his eye with 4:27 remaining in the game, finished with five saves.
The Explorers had a 6-5 advantage in shots on goal and 4-2 edge in corner kicks.
