The Hudson football team made a stellar debut after posting a convincing 36-7 victory over Euclid Aug. 30 on the road.
All the points were scored in the second and fourth quarters, respectively. The Explorers took a 16-7 lead at halftime and then scored 20 unanswered points in the final 12 minutes.
Hudson had a 325-272 edge in total yards. Explorers quarterback Mitchell Guadagni completed 11-of-24 passes for 164 yards and two touchdowns. He also ran for 51 yards in 11 attempts. Jared Ruffing led Hudson with 54 yards and on 10 carries. The Explorers finished with 192 yards rushing.
Pierce Royster got Hudson on the board with a 26-yard field goal. He also converted three point after tries.
Guadagni threw a 23-yard TD pass to Matt Rightnour and a 45-yard scoring pass to Ruffing, who added a two-yard TD run.
Dean Miller also had a 12-yard TD run and Matt Restifo concluded the scoring with a 20-yard TD run.
