Hudson softball team falls to Mentor

The Hudson softball team lost a 6-2 decision to NOC River Division rival Mentor April 22 on the road.

The Lady Cardinals scored three runs in the first inning and two more in the second to take a 5-0 lead. The Lady Explorers (3-6, 1-2) scored two runs in the third, but Mentor scored another run in the bottom of the fourth.

Hudson finished with nine hits and three errors. The Lady Cardinals had seven hits and one error.

Aislinn Sharkey had three hits, including a triple, and a run scored for the Lady Explorers. Kelly Gough also had three hits and a run scored.

Hudson was scheduled to entertain River Division foe Stow-Munroe Falls April 25 and Aurora April 26. Results of those games were not available at press time.

The Lady Explorers are set to visit River Division rival Twinsburg April 29 before returning home to play River Division foe Cuyahoga Falls May 1. Both games are scheduled to begin at 4:30 p.m.
