Hudson graduates fare well for college teams

Hudson graduate Alyssa Brown, a senior right fielder on the Baldwin-Wallace College (Berea) softball team, recently participated in the Tucson Invitational Games in Tucson, Ariz.

During a four-game stretch, she had seven hits in 15 at bats with two doubles and four runs batted in.

Alyssa's younger sister, Hudson graduate Casey Brown, a freshman pitcher for the Northwood University (Mich.) softball team, recently participated in the Rebel Spring Games in Kissimmee, Fla.

Casey picked up her second win of the season in a complete-game effort against Caldwell College (N.J.) by a score of 7-1. She allowed just two hits and struck out two batters.

Watch wrestling

Absolute Intense Wrestling is scheduled to return to Northeast Ohio March 29 at Cleveland's Turner's Hall (7325 Guthrie Avenue) to present the Gauntlet for the Gold.

Belltime is set for 7:30 p.m. with doors opening at 6:30 p.m. In the main event of the evening, 30 AIW wrestlers will compete in an over-the-top rope battle royal with timed intervals. The last person standing after all other opponents have been eliminated will be crowned the winner of the Gauntlet for the Gold and will earn a future AIW Absolute Title match vs champion Eric Ryan.

In other action, Johnny Gargano joins the undefeated Josh Alexander to battle members of Nixon. The Bulldozer, Matt Tremont, takes on Chris Dickinson.

Tickets can be purchased at http://shop.aiwrestling.com/ for $15 apiece. Online ticket buyers are admitted first. Tickets also can be purchased at the door the day of the show.

Twinsburg girls fall

The Twinsburg girls basketball team, which earned a come-from-behind 55-52 victory over Hudson in a district title contest earlier in the month, lost a 52-48 decision to Kettering Fairmont in the Division I state championship game March 16 at The Ohio State University's Value City Arena.

The loss ended the Lady Tigers' 43-game winning streak and their 73-game winning streak against Ohio teams.
