Big third quarter leads Hudson boys basketball team to district final

The Hudson boys basketball team advanced to a Division I district final contest.

The third-seeded Explorers earned a convincing 47-27 victory over Stow-Munroe Falls March 7 at Copley High School.

With the win, Hudson (20-4), which has won 13 straight games, earned a date with top-seeded Nordonia March 9 at 7 p.m.

The Explorers, whose 20 wins are a school record, scored the first 10 points of the third quarter and never looked back. The Bulldogs (12-13) scored just three points and did not have a single a field goal in the period. Stow had a total of two field goals in the final 16 minutes.

Steven Boslet, who knocked down two three-pointers during Hudson's 10-0 third quarter run, led the Explorers with 17 points. He knocked down four threes for the game. Hudson finished 3-0 against the Bulldogs this season.

Matt Beech led Stow with a game-high 21 points.
