If you don't score your first point until midway through the second quarter, it's safe to say you're having a bad night.
The Hudson boys basketball team, on the other hand, begs to differ.
The host Explorers (15-4) won their eighth consecutive game after earning a 39-37 triple-overtime victory over Stow-Munroe Falls Feb. 12 at Ray "Buck" Hyser Gymnasium.
Hudson did not score in the first quarter and trailed 13-0 midway through the second period. The Explorers missed their first 12 shots.
Hudson eventually won the game when Steve Boslet, who finished with just four points, tipped in a missed shot at the buzzer. The Bulldogs forced overtime when Nathan Bower-Malone knocked down a three-pointer with four seconds left.
Stow's Matt Beech led all scorers with 19 points.
John Zuccaro and Mitch Guadagni each had eight points for the Explorers and Kevin Zullo had seven points for Hudson.
With the win, the Explorers improved to 6-2 in the Northeast Ohio Conference Valley Division. The Bulldogs dropped to 9-11 overall and 2-6 in the division.
