Gedeon chosen to play

in International Bowl

Hudson senior linebacker Ben Gedeon was expected to play for the 2013 U.S. Under-19 national team in the fourth annual International Bowl Feb. 5 in Austin, Texas.

Gedeon, who is orally committed to Michigan, is one of six linebackers to be named today by USA Football.

At Hudson, Gedeon made 126 tackles, including 11 for a loss and five sacks, as a senior. He also recovered five fumbles and had an interception for the Explorers.

Hockey squad loses

The Western Reserve Academy ice hockey team fell to 8-13-1 overall and 7-5-1 in the Blue Central Division after losing an 11-7 decision to Garfield Heights Feb. 1 at Kent State University Ice Arena.

Otto Bohan, Davis Johnson and Rob Markwell each had two goals for the Pioneers and Alec Rhodes scored once.

Reserve goaltender Max Fausnight made 39 saves in the net.

WRA is scheduled to play Sewickley Academy (Pa.) Feb. 11 at 4:15 p.m.
