Hudson resident Cassidy Brown recently earned two prestigious preseason honors. The standout Walsh Jesuit catcher and 2012 first-team All-Ohio selection was named a first-team Louisville Slugger/Collegiate Baseball Pre-Season All-American as well as the top Pre-Season High School Baseball Player in Ohio by MaxPreps.

Brown has many accolades to his name. He was named first-team All-Ohio, first-team North Coast League, Walsh Jesuit Co-Most Valuable Player, a Rawlings All-American and a Max Preps Top 50 Player in 2012. He also was invited to participate in USA Baseball 18-and-younger National Team Tryouts and the Perfect Game National Showcase this year.

In 2011, the Loyola Marymount (Calif.) recruit was named Cuyahoga River Baseball Conference Player of the Year and was instrumental in leading the team to a 20-3 season in 2011; the school's seventh national ranking in the past eight years.
