The host Hudson boys basketball team earned a 67-65 victory over Northeast Ohio Conference rival Shaker Heights Jan. 25 at Ray "Buck" Hyser Gymnasium.
With the win, the Explorers improved to 10-4 on the season. Shaker dropped to 10-4.
Zack Brandy had a career-high 30 points for Hudson, which overcame a five-point deficit with 90 seconds left. Brandy's steal and layup with 3.8 seconds remaining sealed the deal for the Explorers.
Steve Boslet and Alex Mushock added 13 and 12 points, respectively, for Hudson. Esa Ahmad led Shaker with 23 points.
GIRLS SWIMMERS AND DIVERS BEAT STRONGSVILLE; BOYS FALL
The Hudson girls swimming and diving team capped off a 9-0 regular season and 6-0 Northeast Ohio Conference Valley Division record after earning a 180-135 victory over Strongsville Jan. 25 on the road.
The boys fell to 7-2 overall and 5-1 in the Valley Division after losing a 179-130 decision.
