Hudson girls bowlers beat Mayfield for second win of the season

The Hudson girls bowling team improved to 2-8 on the season after posting a 1,645-1,564 win over Mayfield Jan. 17 at Wickliffe Lanes.

The boys fell to 3-9 after losing a narrow 2,543-2,524 decision.

Angela Piazza led the Lady Explorers with scores of 145 and 160, respectively. Also faring well for Hudson were Elaina Arsham (147-118), Geneva Liljestrand (131-126) and Ashley Gardea (147-118).

The boys were led by Mike Rybak, who bowled games of 222 and 229. Other Explorer boys who rolled two games were Taylor Turrin (201-215), Donny Campbell (206-196), Logan Booth (176-225) and Philip Rust (167-163).

The junior varsity boys lost a 2,041-1,618 decision. Derek Moran (178-133) led Hudson.

All three teams are scheduled to face Stow-Munroe Falls Jan. 22 and Mentor Jan. 23 at Sto-Kent Family Entertainment. Both matches are set to begin at 4:15 p.m.
