Trio invited to National

Development Camp

Hudson residents Sarah L'Hommedieu, Alex Wright and Kim Ito recently were selected to attend the US Youth Soccer National Development Camp, which is scheduled to take place Jan. 29 to Feb. 3 in Phoenix.

The three players each earned a spot on the Olympic Development Program Region II pool for their age group in July.

That means they were selected as one of the best 36 players in their 14-state region.

The United States has four regions and each region is expected to send 18 players to the camp.

At the camp, L'Hommedieu, Wright and Ito will be evaluated for a spot on the United States National Team for their respective age group.

Play soccer

X-Treme Select Soccer Club is back after a three-year layoff and is shaping new teams for the coming weeks, months and years.

The club is a non-profit organization that has players from all over Northern Ohio.

Players will receive the opportunity to compete with and against some of the strongest players in the region. Each player will be provided with at least two training sessions per week and at least one game.

Those that want more opportunities will find that they can/will receive them, such as additional group/individual training sessions, and extra playing opportunities.

X-Treme Select Soccer Clubs encourages all youth soccer players ages 6 to 18 in the area to attend open training sessions Tuesday evenings at 925 Grant Street from 6 to 7:30 p.m. for ages 6 to 14,and from 7:30 -9 p.m. for ages 15 and older for the remaining winter months.
