Western Reserve Academy swimmers and divers finish 1-1 at home tri-meet

The host Western Reserve Academy swimming and diving teams finished 1-1 at a tri-meet Jan. 10.

The Aurora girls narrowly beat the Lady Pioneers 125-113. Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy scored 76 points.

The Aurora boys also finished 2-0 with 142 points. Reserve and CVCA finished with 113 and 48 points, respectively.

The following WRA swimmers and divers placed in the top three and the following Reserve relay teams won:

Girls

• 200-yard medley relay: Elisabeth Andersson, Sibel Sarac, Kathryn Babbin and Emily Winson, first, 2 minutes, 6.81 seconds

• 200 individual medley: Kathryn Babbin, first, 2:22.02

• 50 freestyle: Andersson, first, 27.98

• Diving: Dori Fenyvesi, first, 146.45 points

• 100 butterfly: Emily Winson, third, 1:33.27

• 100 freestyle: Kathryn Babbin, first, 56.7

• 500 freestyle: Sarac, third, 6:20.64

• 100 backstroke: Andersson, first, 1:09.08

• 400 freestyle relay: Andersson, Sarac, Caroline Babbin and Kathryn Babbin, first, 3:42.08

Boys

• 200 medley relay: Kevin Ly, Jonathan Depew, John Ainikkal and Eric Lugg, 1:49.3

• 200 freestyle: Ainikkal, third, 2:10.25

• 50 freestyle: Shyam Patnaik, second, 26.04; and Zein Alali, third, 26.18

• Diving: Adam Sneath, first, 182.25

• 100 butterfly: Depew, second, 56.33

• 100 freestyle: Ainikkal, second, 54.92

• 500 freestyle: Lugg, third, 5:44.38

• 100 backstroke: Depew, first, 1:01.11
