They still didn't get the result they wanted, but the Explorers will settle for it.
The Hudson ice hockey team earned a 2-2 tie with Red North East Division rival Rocky River Jan. 4 at Kent State University Ice Arena.
The Pirates won the first three meetings against the Explorers (10-6-2, 2-1-1) this season.
"Although we tied, we still got a point in the division, which is huge," Hudson head coach Bobby Lyle said. "It's also good to see the improvement from the beginning of the year to now from our younger players."
Bo Lori scored both goals for the Explorers and Connor Ganley had an assist. Hudson goaltender Grayson Kotseos made 31 saves in the nets.
"We played well," Lyle said. "We had trouble staying out of the box. River tied it up with just under three minutes to play. Hopefully, we have a little momentum because we have three league games."
The Explorers are scheduled to visit Parma Padua Franciscan Jan. 11 at 7 p.m. before returning to Kent State to play Walsh Jesuit Jan. 12 at 8 p.m.
Hudson is set to visit Parma Heights Holy Name Jan. 13 at 3:30 p.m.
