Scores: Hudson girls basketball team routs Normandy

The Hudson girls basketball team rolled to a 74-35 victory over Normandy Jan. 9 in Parma Heights.

With the win, the Lady Explorers improved to 11-2. It was Hudson's sixth straight win.

Hannah Boesinger led the Lady Explorers with 22 points and Jackie Ulmer and Krissy Mummey added 13 and 11 points, respectively.

Hudson also posted a 48-44 win in overtime in the junior varsity game. The Lady Explorers' freshman team improved to 8-0 with a 38-21 victory.

BOWLERS FALL TO MENTOR

The Hudson boys and girls bowling teams lost to Mentor Jan. 9 at Freeway Lanes of Mentor.

The boys lost a 2,324-1,987 decision and the girls lost a 2,251-1,601 decision.

The boys (3-8) were led by Philip Rust (166-182), Taylor Turrin (187-140) and CJ Colesi (160-135). The girls (1-7) were led by Angela Piazza (156-140), Elaina Arsham (89-143) and Autumn Stanonik (117-110).

The Hudson boys junior varsity team lost a 2,036-1,666 decision. The top three bowlers for the Explorers were Bryce Meyer (138-147), Nick Johnson (171-113) and Derek Moran (145-133).
