Mount Union offers baseball camps

The University of Mount Union is scheduled to host baseball winter camps for boys (grades 4 to 12) Jan. 20 and 27.

• Jan. 20: The prospect camp is open to all players regardless of skill level who are looking to improve: Offensive skills, pitching/catching drills, infield/outfield drills and skills evaluations.

• Jan. 27: Skill development will include swing mechanics, tee drills, bunting/base running, throwing mechanics, infield/outfield and pitching/catching.

The camps are set to take place at Peterson Field House on campus. For details, contact Mount Union assistant baseball coach Evan Agona at 330-829-6650 or agonaem@mountunion.edu.

Hoops team wins title

The Hudson junior varsity boys basketball team won the Hudson Holiday Classic, which concluded Dec. 29 at Hudson High School's Ray "Buck" Hyser Gymnasium.

The Explorers posted a 49-26 win in the championship game. Medina earned a 31-29 victory in the consolation game.

Trevor Colazzo led Hudson (8-0) with a game-high 23 points. The Explorers posted a 49-29 win over Streetsboro Dec. 27. Colazzo had 11 points and Kyle Ator and Brendan Burdett added 10 and nine points, respectively.
