AKRON, Ohio – United Way of Summit County’s Imagination Library program achieved a significant milestone this month by surpassing 10,000 registered participants – a number that represents a more than 60 percent increase over the last year and nearly a third of the approximately 31,000 eligible preschoolers in Summit County.

Students in Miss Politano's class at Evamere Elementary School recently presented the Humane Society of Summit County with a check for $250 to benefit the animals. The funds were raised by the R2 snack shop, which made and sold more than 200 chocolate-covered pretzels.

Hudson Hudson Community Education and Recreation's Explorer Zone before and after school child care students took part in a special holiday community service project. Since September, students have been busily knitting lap blankets for residents of The Hudson Elms.
The Hudson City School District will begin its 2017-2018 registration for Preschool peer models on January 9. New this year, the registration process will take place on-line. Screening is limited to the first 50 applications submitted.
The holiday winter programs are in full swing at Hudson Montessori School. Ms. Mary Blatnik's Children's House class performed several songs and recited the story, Jingle Bells by Iza Trapani. They ended with a "rap" song, "Holiday.
