Akron, OH – September 27, 2016 – Long lasting nonprofit relationships increases with excitement and enthusiasm for building community involvement of this October’s connect2akron (c2a) event.
Last year’s c2a event surpassed the committee’s expectations, with attendance and excitement, and is hoping to do so again at this free event scheduled to begin at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, October 6th at the Tangier.
“c2a is a great event in Akron, which helps to connect and engage the growing number of young professionals, who are looking and wanting to give back to the Greater Akron community in a meaningful , and impactful capacity” Kimberly Young, Chair of connect2akron, said of the event.
This initiative is a collaborative effort among the following young professional organizations: ArtCetera, Downtown Akron Partnership Emerging Leaders, Torchbearers, Young Professionals of Akron, the Young Black Professionals Coalition, and the Young Professionals Network of the Greater Akron Chamber, which all were part of the planning process to make this event successful.
“The connect2akron is a great event. I was able to link with non-profits in the community, and talk to several of them all in the same evening. It was like speed dating, but for non-profits” said Jeanette Menapace, a c2a attendee.
The Knight Foundation is the sponsor for the event this year.
