During the 2017 baseball season, several Hudson Baseball Association (HBA) teams will be wearing the initials 'RJR' on their sleeve to honor the memory of a founding HBA member, Robert John Rischitelli, a resident of Hudson for over 40 years.
Coach Rischitelli, who passed away in November 2016, co-founded HBA in 1982 as a local travel baseball organization with the goal of teaching his three boys -- and their teammates -- the values of teamwork, commitment, and respect for the game. Over the years Coach Rischitelli dedicated himself to building HBA from the ground up into an organization that focused on the development of players on and off the field.
Since that time, HBA has grown into an organization with over 100 players with at least two teams at every age group starting at age 8. In the 2017 season, Coach Rischitelli's grandsons -- who are HBA players -- plan to carry on the tradition of their grandfather -- RJR.
