Just as we take care of the maintenance of our homes, we must also take care of the maintenance of our schools.
We want our students to be educated in a safe and secure environment. This is done through a PIF Levy which must be renewed every 5 years and involves no new taxes. The current PIF Levy which generates $1.38 million per year expires at the end of 2017. The PIF Levy has been in place since 1962 and by law can only be used for capital projects that include roof replacement or repair, parking lot and grounds and field replacement, heating and cooling units, technology, school buses, food service equipment and other improvements. By law, it cannot be used for salaries or benefits.
Please join me on May 2 or through an absentee ballot in supporting this important levy for our schools! Remember: No new taxes!
